1. Information We Collect

We collect the details you provide when you create an account (such as your name, email, phone number and golfing details), the bookings you make, messages you send, and basic usage and device data needed to operate and improve the app.

2. Location Information

TapIn Golf can share your position on the course with the golf club while you are playing a round. This is entirely optional. We ask for your permission at the start of a round and never collect location data unless you have said yes to that specific round.

What we collect. Your device's precise location (latitude, longitude and accuracy), together with the time it was recorded. To keep the club's course view accurate while your phone is in your pocket or the screen is off, we collect this in the background for the duration of the round.

Why we collect it. Location is used only to run the round you are playing: to show the club which hole each group is on so they can manage pace of play, to warn you if your group falls behind, to confirm your arrival at the first tee, to remind you at the turn, and to reach you with course alerts such as a lightning warning or an instruction to evacuate the course. We do not use location for advertising, profiling or tracking you across other apps.

Who sees it. Your position is shared with the golf club hosting the round and is visible to that club's staff and on the club's on-course display alongside your name. It is not shared with any other club, with other golfers outside your round, or with advertisers, and we do not sell it.

How long we keep it. Location points are kept only for the round and are deleted when the round ends. We may retain the summary times a group reached each hole for the club's pace-of-play records; these contain no location coordinates.

Your choice. You can decline location sharing and still play and score your round normally — nothing else in the app depends on it. You can stop sharing at any time from the round screen, and you can withdraw the permission entirely in your device's system settings for TapIn Golf, which stops all collection immediately.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide tee-time bookings, process payments through our partners, connect you with friends and clubs, send relevant notifications, and keep the service safe — including reviewing reported content and enforcing our Community Guidelines.

4. Sharing

We share information with golf clubs you book with and with the payment and infrastructure providers needed to run the service. Location is shared only as described in section 2. We do not sell your personal information.

5. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet our legal obligations. You can request deletion of your account at any time.

6. Your Rights

You may access, correct, or delete your personal information, and you can manage notification and privacy settings in the app. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data.

8. Children

TapIn Golf is intended for users who are at least 18 years old, or who use the app with a guardian's consent.
